A Delegation from Sinop Üniversitesi , Turkey, Visits Mansoura University

Under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the International Relations Office welcomed a high-level delegation from Sinop University, Turkey, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
The delegation included Prof. Muhyiddin Yilmaz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Reza Bayrak, Vice President for International Relations; and Dr. Mustafa Al-Ashmawy, Coordinator of International Cooperation and the Erasmus Program at Sinop University. From the Egyptian side, Prof. Marwa Hassaan, Director of the International Relations Office, attended alongside Assoc. Prof. Yousra El-Far and Dr. Shady Aouny, Deputy Directors of the International Relations Office, as well as Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah, Coordinator of Tourism Programs at the office.
During the meeting, discussions centered around potential future cooperation. Both parties watched introductory videos about Mansoura University and Sinop University. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Marwa Hassaan presented the delegation with the International Relations Office’s shield.
The delegation’s agenda included a meeting with Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, where the discussion focused on enhancing mutual collaboration between the two universities. They explored the possibility of signing a bilateral cooperation protocol to strengthen ties in scientific research and academic activities. The potential collaboration could include faculty and researcher exchanges, joint supervision of master’s and doctoral theses, joint research activities, scholarships, the creation of joint and dual academic degrees, short-term academic programs, e-learning initiatives, consultancy, training, curriculum development, and organizing joint workshops, conferences, and international seminars. They also discussed the exchange of academic and scientific materials and information.
Another meeting was held with Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Research, and Cultural Relations, where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance academic and research cooperation and community service between the two universities under the Erasmus Program.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash emphasized opening new horizons for collaboration in research and international publishing following the MoU signing. He highlighted that the Erasmus Program is a funding initiative for the exchange of higher education institutions, aiming to improve the quality of education and strengthen relations among academic institutions. Erasmus also funds joint research projects between partner universities. Mansoura University is one of the Egyptian universities participating in the Erasmus Program, hosting numerous faculty members from European partner universities annually for training and teaching.
At the end of the visit, Prof. Cherif Khater presented the delegation with Mansoura University’s shield, and Prof. Tarek Ghalwash presented the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector shield. Both parties exchanged commemorative gifts.
It is noteworthy that this marks the first collaboration between Mansoura University and Sinop University.
The Turkish delegation’s visit also included a tour of Mansoura University, covering the Faculty of Nursing, the Paleontology Center at the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
