Mansoura University welcomed Director of Friedrich Loeffler Institute, Jena, Germany

Professor Dr. Mohamed ElKenawy (President of Mansoura University) welcomed Professor Dr. Heinrich Neubauer (Director of Friedrich Loeffler Institute, Jena, Germany) in the presence of the Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sewelam (Vice President of Mansoura University), Prof. Dr. Nabil Abo Heakal (Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Prof. Dr. Mohammed Sallah (Director of MU International Relations Office), Dr. Mayada Gwida (Assistant Professor of Zoonoses, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and Dr. Maged El-Ashker (Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine).

Professor El-Kenawy has pointed out to the importance of scientific working within the international cooperation to maximize the benefit of scientific research providing scientific solutions to the problems of the Egyptian society.

This visit comes within the frame of international scientific collaboration between the Friedrich Loeffler Institut and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Mansoura University. Moreover, it is presented within the frame of the German partnership program for Excellence in Biological and health security to follow up the project, authored by Dr. Mayada Gwida (PI) and Dr. Maged El-Ashker (Co-PI), entitled “Brucellosis, Q fever and Viral Hemorrhagic fever in Egypt" which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.

Prof. Neubauer has presented a plenary lecture on the state of the art and the challenges of the diagnosis of Brucellosis in Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Mayada Gwida (the principal Investigator of the project) has explained a detailed presentation about the developmental steps and achievements of the research project particularly during the past three years as well as highlighted on the most important outcomes of the project including publishing five articles in the most prestigious international journals with high impact factors.
